Have you been filling your body with refined foods, sugars, caffeine, tobacco, mercury found in tuna and other fish? After spending years battling constipation, a bloated stomach, migraine headaches and feeling sluggish all the time, I decided to look into a natural body detox and take back my life.
I wanted to try a natural detox that would clear my colon of toxins and something called Mucoid Plaque. In case you’re wondering what Mucoid plaque is, let me give you a brief description of it. Basically, it is food residue that adheres to the walls of your colon and doesn’t know when it’s not wanted. Did you know that if you have just one layer of this disgusting plaque, it can weaken your colon and make you more susceptible to bowl diseases?
As I dug further into my research I found several options out there, but one in particular got my attention called The Brown Rice Diet. It consists of; you guessed it, organic brown rice which is incredibly high in fibre and similar to Psyllium Husk. Just think of a bottle cleaner going through a baby bottle, when the rice is on its way out, it grabs hold of all the toxins, on the walls, of your colon giving you an amazing colon cleansing, Neat!
There are two versions of this diet; one is, you eat 5 – 6 small portions of brown rice along with 8 – 10 glasses of water, per day, for up to 2 weeks. Then, there is the other version where you eat lots of brown rice, and drink water, but you can add a variety of organic fruits, and vegetables.
Along my journey to discover the best colon cleanse, I have learned of various natural digestive products out there such as; fennel seeds which will help get rid of gas in the intestinal tract by eating ½ a table spoon after a meal. Then there is ginger that protects the lining of the upper gastrointestinal tract and works to prevent ulcers and those pesky little parasites that like to make our bodies their homes.
Other digestive aids are; Aloe Vera, Dandelion, yeah I thought they were just weeds too, Fenugreek Seeds, Peppermint, Slippery Elm Bark Powder, Camomile and others. Papaya fruit, when eaten regularly, can prevent or correct habitual constipation, chronic diarrhea and can even destroy parasites when mixed with equal parts of honey and other ingredients.
You can also choose to do a cleansing using herbal teas, herbal laxatives and supplements, which will be less likely to cause you to run out on an important date or meeting, but they can sometimes, depending on the person, cause an enema effect which can still make things happen quite quickly and can be embarrassing.
There are so many natural ways of evicting those nasty toxins from our colons, effectively and safely, when done properly. Some of the benefits of a colon cleansing are; a clearer mind, decreased bloating, weight loss, decrease in headaches or migraines, prevention of colon cancers and an overall better way of life.
